"A surprisingly funny, witty, and good read."

"The mix of the African Savannah and the paranormal in the 1890s, not to mention the British twist... I found this book truly entertaining. It kept my interest from cover to cover. I even caught myself laughing out loud at certain points."

"I was very surprised when at 4 AM I couldn't stop reading! I really enjoyed Mrs. Knight and the way she reacts in the situations she faces."

"Bee, the main character is hilarious. Her wit, her dry humor, her observations are not only refreshing but addictive. Vered Ehsani's writing is just excellent."

This is my new favorite book series! I have read 3 so far and I can’t stop! The characters are so intriguing and I shift through each page reminiscing on each of their distinct personality traits as I intently read each page. I am so in love with the way this author paints the scenery that it makes me want to visit Africa and smell the vast horizons that she paints so well. I decidedly have committed to finishing this series but I will take my time since I have no clue if the latest book will be continued. I really hope so! This is a great read for smaller humans to enjoy and not age restricted. I really hope people read this! It’s too good to not get involved. :)

A great story and first book in the series. It really moved along well and I enjoyed the Victorian vernacular. It was entertaining and humorous. Sometimes novels written in Victorian prose can be over-wordy... this was just perfect. I also enjoyed the paranormal twist on the Ghost and the Darkness and can't wait to dive in to the rest of the series.
