Description

An intimate, powerful, and inspiring memoir by the former First Lady of the United States

In a life filled with meaning and accomplishment, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As First Lady of the United States of America—the first African American to serve in that role—she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue healthier and more active lives, and standing with her husband as he led America through some of its most harrowing moments. Along the way, she showed us a few dance moves, crushed Carpool Karaoke, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under an unforgiving media glare.

In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her—from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it—in her own words and on her own terms. Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is the deeply personal reckoning of a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations—and whose story inspires us to do the same.

The Obamas have made enough off of the American people. Why give this couple another dime. The Obamas destroyed America in 8 years. Look how much better we are today after reversing most of the Obama legacy. MAGA

I wouldn’t buy this book because of the self-indulgent manner it is problably written, a “Becoming” title about how her husband is the greatest thing that ever happened to the country all while taking credit for everything Trump did. Also the cover picture isn’t very “becoming.”

Hopefully the ghost writers did good for Mrs. Obama. And, I don’t see how anyone can rate any book before it is even release.

I have been around since Bess Truman was the First Lady, but never has there ever been as caring and loving (to everyone) a First Lady as Michele Obama. I was so proud of her. In the position, she was the epitome of what America needs to represent us to the world. I look forward to the book. I wish we could have Michele back, perhaps as President,

I can’t wait to read this book by a phenomenal, gracious and very smart lady. She taught us to ‘go high when others go low.’

This should not be allowed. To berate a person when it’s about a book, that has not come out yet. Please rate the book when it is released and after you have read it. Not how you feel about the real First Lady. Plain hatred.

I can’t wait to read the book, I am sure our eyes will still be open to some things in the Whitehouse. To those that say Melania is a great First Lady I will say I am so glad she does not stand behind her husband because That is something I can commend her for but, it is sad when you can go online and see your first lady doing things that you can’t share with young children. I am excited for Becoming!

How can this book be rated and reviewed when it’s not even out yet? I’ll give it 5 stars then just for the haters.
