Tara Babcock awakes the morning after her 30th birthday with a hangover that could kill an elephant - and the knowledge she is still no closer to achieving closure on her marriage breakup. Things go from bad to worse when she discovers that, not only is her ex-husband engaged to her cousin - Tash, the woman he left her for - but that Jake is also running for Lord Mayor of Sydney.
Desperate to leave the destructive relationship behind and with nothing to lose, she decides - with encouragement from her three best friends - to follow the dubious advice from a magazine article, Closure in Seven Easy Steps.
The Seven Steps to Closure follows Tara on her sometimes disastrous - always hilarious - path to achieve the seemingly impossible.
A credible and amazingly touching debut novel from Donna Joy Usher, this is a solid, light-hearted and honest read with plenty of laughs.

“The Seven Steps to Closure’s heroine, Tara, is an endearing character and her entertaining journey to closure is packed with laughs and plenty of heart.” Tonya Plank, Shirley You Jest! Book Awards judge and author of 'Swallow'.

New author for me. A mad cap story with fun characters that I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know. And then there was the love story, that I fell in love with.

this showed up in the free section on bookbub today, so I hit download and discovered I already owned it. Sometime within the last year I apparently read it and stopped two pages from the end. I can't recall a single detail so that's probably not a good sign. I usually remember something about a book, even if I read it a year ago. I suppose I'll just delete it again to save space on my phone.
  • Humor like I haven't read in a long time.

A very well thought out story. Poo jokes, deranged pets, and female empowerment - equals lots of tear spilling "I think I may have peed a little" laughter. A great read.

I enjoyed reading the Seven Steps to Closure. Thought provoking, yes. Funny, it had me chuckling to the point my husband started giving me funny looks. I really think he just wanted to read the book, too. But it really sounds like a good plan for getting over an ex, and finding your self esteem to boot.

It was witty, funny, and just a really good novel. I could easily submerge myself into the story from the very beginning!

Australian themed. Great dialogue. When the story starts with a cursing parrot...
